We will journey through the development of medieval philosophy, exploring the connections between Ancient Greek philosophy and Christianity. We will consider the works of influential philosophers such as Thomas Aquinas and Saint Augustine and their profound impact on the intellectual landscape of the medieval period.

What to expect from the course:

- Gain insights into the historical context, key themes, and transition from Ancient Greek philosophy to medieval philosophy.
- Connection between Plato, Aristotle, and Christianity: Understand how Greek thought laid the foundation for Christian theology and doctrine.
- Explore the shift from reason in Ancient Greece to faith in the Medieval period and the role of suffering in medieval ethics and politics.
- Philosophy of Saint Augustine and Thomas Aquinas: Examine the works and ideas of these eminent philosophers and their influence on subsequent thinkers.

The following week, we commence the modern era of the history of philosophy with Descartes, Locke, and an introduction to the rationalism-empiricism debate.
